- second part: starts approx. 13:30 in Torinranta, ends in between Main library Saari and Oulu city theater.
fRAGilE is a minimalistic dance project – a site-specific movement installation created in solidarity with those affected by war: the victims, the displaced, the grieving, and the unheard.
The title intertwines fragile and rage, revealing the paradox of human life: delicate and breakable, yet capable of unleashing merciless violence, causing indescribable destruction. This piece stands as a protest against war, rejecting terror, violence, and the normalization of brutality, while confronting humanity’s repeated failure to learn from history.
fRAGilE explores the somatic impact of war – the deep, embodied effects of both internal and external quakes, leaving lasting imprints on both landscape and soul. Its repetitive, looping structure moves through urban spaces, symbolizing vulnerability, the hopelessness of escape, and the inescapable cycle of trauma.
Through movement, atmosphere, and visual language, fRAGilE evokes empathy and solidarity, reminding us that violence and destruction are neither distant nor exceptional, but part of our shared world. It creates a space for reflection, for feeling, and for the recognition that suffering is never as far removed as we may wish it to be.
