Aikana, jolloin hallitsevia kertomuksia muovaavat ekologinen romahdus ja teknologinen pelko, Synteettinen vastarinta ehdottaa spekulatiivista ja toiveikasta vaihtoehtoa. Projekti hahmottaa tulevaisuuden, jossa hybridilajit, ilmastonmuutoksen jälkeiset ekosysteemit ja teknobiologiset maisemat kietoutuvat yhteen muodostaen uudenlaisia rinnakkaiselon tapoja. Bruno Latourin “kollektiivi”-käsitteestä inspiroituneena — ihmisten, ei-ihmisten ja teknologioiden yhteenliittymänä — tämä työ vastustaa kaksijakoista ajattelua ja omaksuu monimutkaisuuden.

Ranskalaisena taiteilijana, joka on asunut lähes 15 vuotta Oulussa Pohjois-Suomessa, yhdistän arktisen ympäristön vaikutteet huippututkimukseen.

Luovan työskentelyni prosessi yhdistää tieteellisiä ja taiteellisia menetelmiä, joita olen kehittänyt lukuisten yhteistyöprojektien kautta tutkijoiden ja teknologien kanssa. Työskentelen taktiilisten medioiden, installaatioiden, videon, interaktiivisten kokemusten ja valokuvauksen parissa.

Näyttely on osa Oulu2026-kulttuuriohjelmaa ja kulttuuri-ilmastonmuutosta.

In a time when dominant narratives are shaped by ecological collapse and technological dread, Synthetic Resistance proposes a speculative and hopeful alternative. The project envisions a future where hybrid species, post-climatic ecosystems, and technobiological landscapes converge to form new modes of coexistence. Inspired by Bruno Latour’s concept of the “collective”—the entanglement of humans, nonhumans, and technologies—this work resists binary thinking and embraces complexity.

Drawing from my experience as a French artist living in Oulu, Northern Finland for almost 15 years, I merge the influence of Arctic environments with cutting-edge research.

My creative process blends scientific and artistic methodologies, developed through numerous collaborations with scientists and technologists. I work with tactile media, installations, video, interactive experiences, and photography.

The exhibition is part of the Oulu2026 cultural program and cultural climate change.
